A poor and sometimes cavalier attitude to fire safety and tenants’ concerns on the part of many of the organisations involved in the years leading up to the Grenfell Tower fire has been highlighted by the Phase 2 report from the Grenfell Tower inquiry, published today.
Some 43% of officer workers think that cracked glass in a fire door is acceptable, while 57% said a hole where a lock had been removed would not affect a fire door’s performance, according to a new survey of office workers’ attitudes to fire doors.
Norfolk’s Breckland Council has rolled out personal safety devices for its 300 staff members as mandatory.
