The Tall Buildings Fire Safety Conference, co-located with Safety & Health Expo and the Workplace Wellbeing Show in September 2020, is set to focus on three major themes:
The three separate one day ‘focus’ conferences will take place at the International Tall Building Fire Safety Conference. Building on delegate feedback from previous events, each theme will feature expert speakers, the latest innovations, and open discussion forums to challenge the status quo.

Conference Director, Russ Timpson, commented: “We’ve taken onboard the feedback comments from delegates. They wanted focus events where they could discuss current issues with their peers and colleagues from other industries and countries. All the three one day conferences; firefighting, construction and crisis management are relevant and essential. We already have some great speakers lined up, so this should be part of your CPD programme for 2020.”
On 19 September, visitors can expect to see the focus on High Rise Firefighting. Speakers from Canada, Australia, Germany and the US will provide valuable insights into current best practice and firefighting innovation. The conference will be chaired by Roy Wilshere of the UK National Fire Chiefs Council. Highlights of the conference will include:

The conference will be the largest gathering of firefighters working on High Rise Firefighting in recent years. There will be time during the conference for open question and answer sessions.
The next day will see the Construction Fire Safety Conference come to London. A recent spate of high-profile construction fires has raised questions about the efficacy of standards, guidance, insurance and risk management. Speakers from the US and UK will explore best practice and challenge current thinking. The conference will be chaired by Martin Wilshire, Safety Director of Multiplex. Highlights of the programme will include:

Modern methods of construction, increased use of timber and new technology such as BIM require us to constantly revaluate our techniques and processes with regard to the risk of fire.”
The final day will focus on Crisis Management in Tall Buildings. Recent events such as terrorist attacks, cyber hacks, and drone scares have made the discipline more relevant than ever. The conference will be chaired by Andy Baker, a highly experienced corporate security expert and former Commander in the Met Police, Deputy Director National Crime Agency. Highlights include:
