Safety and Health Expo 2019
British Red Cross launches special AED offer for British Heart Week
British Red Cross will be promoting British Heart Week with a special offer on Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at Safety & Health Expo, from 18-20 June 2019 at ExCeL London.
A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest. Using a defibrillator can sometimes mean the difference between life or death. If a person collapses and is not breathing, giving them chest compression straight away and using an AED quickly (within three to five minutes) can lead to survival rates of up to 50% to 70%.
Visitors purchasing a HeartSine Samaritan PAD AED from British Red Cross will also receive a free accessory pack worth up to £150.
British Red Cross is acknowledged by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for its firstaid at work training and practice. Its interactive courses teach staff the essential skills and confidence to help save lives when an accident strikes.
As well as its training courses, it offers a range of AEDs to buy or hire. To decide how many AEDs clients need, they should consider the size and age of their workforce and the nature of their working environment.
British Heart Week takes place from 7-15 June 2019.
