Net news- New website gives visitors an eyeful
The company says the site aims to make the purchasing of eyecare quicker and more straightforward for health and safety managers. It contains information about all the different vouchers available to cover obligatory VDU eyecare, safety glasses, optical care, requirements for drivers, and additional employee benefits. Specsavers says the site can be explored by either employers or employees, making it easy to find the right level of information regarding regulations, eyecare policies, and general eye health. It is even possible to book an appointment online. The virtual ‘try on’ feature, which acts like a digital mirror, allows users to see how they look in more than a thousand pairs of spectacles. Users simply upload a photograph, try on the glasses they like, adjust them to fit, change the colour, or view their new look close up. If they do not want to upload their own photograph they can use a sample face instead. Once a pair of spectacles has been chosen, they can be saved, compared, and printed off to show family and friends for a second opinion before purchase!Jim Lythgow, director of strategic alliances for Specsavers Corporate Eyecare, said: “We always aim to make the purchase of eyecare as simple but informative as possible. We believe that the new website is an extremely useful tool in helping us keep health and safety managers as up to date as possible regarding offers, innovations, regulations and services.”
