Heather Beach launches The Healthy Work Company

Heather Beach, previously of SHP, Safety and Health Expo and Barbour, has announced that she has formed The Healthy Work Company – a training company with a difference. Healthy Work is focused on training health and safety professionals in leadership and influencing skills as well as supporting them with their responsibilities in wellbeing and mental health through Mental Health First Aid and the latest thinking in helping teams to thrive.

Heather has become a very well-known face after spending 25 years in health and safety, and running the Safety and Health Expo for four years, in which time she launched Women in Health and Safety and the Keynote Theatre.

healthy-work-logoSpeaking about her new venture, Heather said: “ I have been part of the health and safety profession, supporting it in information services and latterly in media for 25 years now, and I have formed this business in order to be able to follow two of my passions – supporting health and safety professionals in their evolution and helping people and organisations to thrive”.

Heather intends to work with the profession to develop her training courses, and is also pleased to announce two partnerships. The first with Acre Frameworks – who now have a valuable bank of data on training needs from their psychometric testing and the second with Professor Tim Marsh, with whom she is launching a one day conference – Mental Health for Health and Safety Professionals on May 11 at the BMA in London.

Heather’s first course will be a two day “Core Skills of Leadership and Influencing for Health and Safety Professionals” which goes into consultation with members of the industry on March 10th.

The Conference, being launched together with Professor Marsh, is to be held at the British Medical Association on May 11 during Mental Health Awareness Week and features Alistair Campbell as keynote speaker, as well as psychologists Tim Marsh and Sharon de Mascia, HR Employment lawyer Pam Loch, HSL’s Clare Forshaw and industry peers Clive Johnson, Karl Simons and Judith Grant.

“ I want people to leave inspired to tackle mental health in their organisations and with both the theory and tools which mean they can immediately take some initiatives forward” says Heather.

Heather will continue to work with UBM on the Barbour webinar series and on Women in Health and Safety. She will be based at Acre’s offices in Holborn.
