ESG consultants key spend for sector, survey reveals
SHP product and services trend report reveals focus on ESG while Brexit influence remains unclear.
Research into the buying habits of the sector suggests ESG is a key priority for the profession.
The study, SHP’s Annual Products and Services Report – 2023, surveyed just under 250 health and safety professionals, and probed purchasing patterns around PPE, training and consultancy use.
It noted a large number of respondents citing spend on specialist ESG consultancy knowledge. When asked specifically about the importance of sustainability/ESG credentials, only 11% said it was ‘Not important at all’.
Elsewhere, a question around Brexit split the response sample, with just over 50% confirming that Britain’s exit from the European Union had not affected respondents’ choice of supplier and overall spend. It suggests a degree of uncertainty remains until legislation is ratified.
Finally, 26% of respondents revealed an increase in budget spend, with the majority (54%) confirming that it had stayed the same.
