Arco: impact protection for workers’ hands

Safety company Arco says its new range of impact protection gloves is helping companies comply with PPE legislation across a range of industries.

The Arco Impact Mechanics Glove and the Arco Impact liner offer impact protection in a wide range of applications from heavy engineering to general industrial use, says the firm, adding that they are comfortable and dexterous.

The company claim that organisations often put gloves through extensive testing before using them and replacing existing items can be a lengthy and expensive process; however, they say the Impact Liner allows existing tested gloves to be worn, but with improved protection. The Impact Liner sits under virtually any other glove says Arco, and because it is lightweight, it maintains dexterity. Its Poron® XRD™ impact pads absorb impact energy, while the light cotton fabric with Microban® antimicrobial protection allows skin to breathe, adds the firm. It comes in sizes 8,9,10 and 11.

Arco go on to say that their Impact Mechanics Glove combines rubberised impact protection for the back of the hand with level 5 cut protection. Handling is kept lightweight and secure with a Nitrile coating, they say, and comfort and dexterity is assured with a seamless knit. It is approved to BS EN 388:2003, adds the company, and comes in sizes 7, 8, 9 and 10.
