SoloProtect and Suzy Lamplugh partnership

Lone Worker Safety company SoloProtect (formerly Connexion2) has announced a strategic partnership with The Suzy Lamplugh Trust which will see the former’s new Head Office in Sheffield, be named after Suzy Lamplugh. The 10,000sq ft facility which is due to open formally in September, will incorporate an innovative, purpose built Alarm Receiving Centre, compliant to EN 50518 as well as house SoloProtect’s growing UK office and operational personnel. It will also include training rooms which SoloProtect is making available to the Trust for when it delivers personal safety training.

The announcement is the result of discussions at senior level between the two organisations, including Trust board members over recent weeks. The Suzy Lamplugh Trust, formed after Suzy’s disappearance whilst working alone in 1986, has now been helping people to lead safer lives for 29 years. Their mission is to campaign, educate and support to help people reduce the risk of violence and aggression for all. SoloProtect will lend its support in helping elevate the increasingly important topic of personal safety.

Craig Swallow, Managing Director of SoloProtect UK commented:“I’m thrilled to be able to formally announce The Suzy Lamplugh Trust as SoloProtect’s nominated charity, and feel honoured that we’re able to pay tribute to Suzy by naming our new Sheffield Headquarters, ‘Suzy Lamplugh House’. The Suzy Lamplugh Trust has always been a cause close to my heart since attending one of their events in 2002 and first hitting on the idea for the original Identicom Lone Worker Device. Now, over a decade later, our cause remains the same – helping others to improve their personal safety, and particularly for SoloProtect, when they happen to be working alone – as Suzy was.”

Rachel Griffin, Director of Suzy Lamplugh Trust commented:
“Raising the profile of Suzy’s story, and helping educate others about how to improve their personal safety remains a key objective for the Suzy Lamplugh Trust. We’re delighted to be nominated as SoloProtect’s charity, and we look forward to continuing to work alongside them in advocating personal safety for all lone workers.”
