Paper industry signs up to challenging safety strategy
The HSE’s Paper and Board Industry Advisory Committee (PABIAC) has launched the second phase of its strategy to further improvements in health and safety in the paper sector.
The new strategy, Making a difference 2008-11, sets an ambitious target of reducing annual injury incidence rates from the current figure of around 1170 per 100,000 employees to fewer than 850 per 100,000 employees by 2011.
Other goals include improving health and safety management performance, and providing PABIAC with information on occupational health to share good practice.
