3M safety network live
The first 3M safety network Live took place today (20 October) aiming to bring their online safety community into an offline environment.
The day was hosted at 3M’s sparkling innovation centre in Bracknell, where SHP were press partners.
Law firm Pinsent Masons invited the 100 strong audience to be jury within a mock-trial. During which the defence attempted to clear a painting company from prosecution following an incident when an employee (Nicky) fell from height injuring herself resulting in a sustained period of time off work.
The jury decided that Kim (the owner of the paint company), was guilty and fined £60,000 for not having suffienct guardrails and toeboards, inadequate risk assessments and a poor general safety culture.
The mock-trial is part of a day of workshops, interactive roundtables and presentations.
