OSH India 2015 focuses on saving lives and preventing injuries
The 4th edition of OSH India, in Mumbai at the end of last month, brought together internationally renowned exhibitors, consultants, business experts and key government officials on one common platform, to discuss global best practices and seek solutions to some of the most pressing challenges in workplace safety and health.
The trade show, India’s largest for the occupational health and safety industry, featured an exhibition, conference, workshop , interactive zone, award night and networking reception.
The conference highlighted key topics including gender sensitivity at work, women and OSH, and the business case to take health as seriously as safety.
This year exhibitors included Acme Safetywears Limited, Drager Safety India Pvt Ltd, Honeywell, Dupont, Honeywell Safety Products, and Rahman Industries Ltd.
The key takeaways from the event were that health and safety go together and can not work in silos. Employee ill health was highlighted, focusing on preventive aspects and employee engagement. The event showed that occupational health services should be a basic human right and employee health is the duty of employers. Lack of awareness in this aspect means health takes a backseat.
