How Can The New ISO 45002 Standard Help You Implement An Effective OHS Management System?

For OHS professionals, having an effective OHS management system is key to building a robust framework for the health, safety, and wellbeing of your people and driving OHS performance in your organisation.

The guidance standard, ISO 45002, was published this February to help organisations establish and maintain their OHS management system and provides general guidelines and case study examples for the implementation of a system that conforms to the requirements of ISO 45001:2018.

To help organisations learn more about how they can take inspiration from the new standard, leading assurance provider, LRQA, is running a free webinar on 23 May at 3pm BST.

Bill Barnes, Auditor Manager at LRQA will be joined by Martin Cottam, Chair of ISO/TC 283 – Occupational Health and Safety Management, who will explain how organisations can use ISO 45002 as a starting point to improve the performance of their OHS management system – whether they have a mature system or are approaching certification for the first time.

The expert panel will also use some of the most common recurring non-conformities and critical issues identified during ISO 45001 certification audits as examples of how ISO 45002 can be used in practice. From understanding the context of the organisation, and developing better worker participation and consultation, to robust planning for emergency preparedness and response – Bill and Martin will explain how you can use the examples found in the guidance standard to address those issues.

There will also be an in-depth Q&A session, where the audience can ask the experts anything around the standard, audit process and how to get the most from your OHS management system. This will be a great opportunity to hear about how the standard was developed, the intention behind it, as well as getting the auditor’s view to help you improve your system further.
