Throwback Thursday: It’s simple stupid
In the May 2004 issue of SHP, Neil Budworth looks at accidents that can often be brushed off as ‘stupid’, with the response when investigating that the person needed to ‘take more care’ rather than looking into the root of the issue. The author goes on to explain how to avoid accidents that are considered stupid by designing risk assessments and raising awareness.
Some examples of stupid accidents are given: “Samantha was putting her safety glasses on when she poked herself in the eye with the arm of the glasses” and “Stan was using the urinal, turned and banged his head on a towel machine.”
