U.S. firm Allegro has launched its range of Supplied Air Shields and Welding Helmets, which it says offers a performance proven and cost effective system to a range of industries.
Allegro, which designs and manufactures safety equipment, says it’s Deluxe Supplied Air Shield and Welding Helmet (Blue) is used by foundries, aluminum plants, mines, chemical plants, refineries, auto manufacturers, metal workers and fabricators. The Welding Shield flips up, the firm says, allowing the user to grind and clean metal looking through a clear ANSI face shield, adding that it is designed with a variable shade and auto-darkening lens (5-14). According to Allegro, this is the ‘ultimate solution’ which provides an all-in-one respiratory, eye, face and head protection against airborne particulate contaminates including hexavalent chromium, flying debris, sparks, cutting and chemical or metal splashes. The company says that the Deluxe Supplied Air Shield and Welding Helmet (Blue) System offers an all-in-one system for one-worker or two-worker needs, making it a cost effective alternative which includes one or two shields/welding helmets, a ¾ hp or 1 ½ hp ambient air pump and 50 feet of breathing hose. The products are NIOSH approved/ANSI certified, they add.
Additional to the range, is the low profile, light weight Deluxe Supplied Air Shield and Welding Helmet (Large)), which Allegro say provides protection from airborne contaminates, sparks, debris or chemical and molten metal splashes. Describing the products, they say that the Welding helmet offers a large #10 lens with 4” x 5” viewing area (ADF lens shades 5-14 optional), with a quick release suspension for easy cleaning. According to Allegro, this system offers an all-in-one system for one-worker or as a two-worker system, with one or two shields/welding helmets, a ¾ hp or 1 ½ hp ambient air pump and 50 feet of breathing hose. Again, both units are ANSI certified and NIOSH approved says the firm.
Finally, the Allegro Economy Supplied Air Shield and Welding Helmet is durable and lightweight moulded from thermoplastic resin, which is lighter than fiberglass, allowing for less fatigue and greater productivity, say the company. They explain that clean, breathable filtered air is directed to the interior of the face shield at a constant flow rate, adding that the system has easy filter replacement using a standard size filter and standard cover and impact plates. The company say this meets ANSI Z87.1 standards for impact resistance. According to Allegro, the Economy Supplied Air Shield and Welding Helmet System is for most welding jobs at an economy price, is built for one-worker or two-workers, and comes with an ambient air pump ¾ hp or 1 ½ hp, one or two helmets and 50’ of breathing airline hose.
