SHE 2013 – A hive of activity
New features, old favourites, the latest products and services, and networking opportunities galore — if you need to know about health and safety, you need to go to Expo!
‘You ask, we act’ was the approach taken this year by the Safety & Health Expo team, which has used research and industry insight — gleaned via a series of focus groups with sector professionals — to deliver a relevant and forward-thinking event for 2013.
Visitors this year will receive not only comprehensive sector updates but also a raft of practical solutions for enhancing safety culture and employee health and well-being. On offer across the three days at the NEC are new interactive areas, a huge range of educational seminars delivered by expert speakers, myriad opportunities to engage in lively debates and discussions and to network with fellow professionals, as well as up-to-the-minute advice and information from the leading product and service suppliers in the health and safety market.
Commented Heather Beach, brand director of the Occupational Safety & Health Portfolio at UBM Live: “We consulted with the profession to see what it wanted from the event this year and found that managing safety culture is a key issue, as is a more interactive and engaging visitor experience. This is reflected in the breadth and calibre of speakers and companies participating this year, and in the introduction of more interactive sessions, role-play workshops and case studies to the programme.”
Cracking content
With seven dedicated theatres, zones and spaces providing opportunities for learning, interaction and networking, visitors to Safety & Health Expo 2013 can find out everything they need to know about the health and safety profession and industry in a dynamic and friendly environment.
Popular features returning for 2013 include the SHP Legal Arena, the Access Industry Forum’s Knowledge Base, the Arco Academy and the IOSH Networks Arena. The Barbour Directors’ Club also returns after its successful debut last year, and the exclusive programme features a series of informative sessions across the three days.
New this year is the Business Driver Safety Zone — focusing on driver and fleet-management issues — and the revamped Health & Well-being theatre, which will focus on how to keep staff and productivity healthy.
More than 250 exhibitors will be on site this year, covering everything from fire safety management to environmental control, training, PPE and lone working. New exhibitors for 2013 include Fleet21, Juice Learning, and HB Protective Clothing, while returning favourites include Draeger Safety, Portwest Clothing, Scott Safety and RRC Training.
Follow the SME€ネtrail
This flagship trade event — the only UK€ネhealth and safety show to have the support of all three primary health and safety associations (IOSH, RoSPA and the BSiF) — runs alongside Facilities Show, IFSEC International and Firex International as part of the Protection and Management Series, all of which are free to attend for registered visitors.
A bespoke ‘trail’ dedicated to meeting the needs of small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across all of these markets will run throughout the entire event. The Funding, Resource and Compliance Programme features a range of free sessions delivered by a team of national and regional expert advisors and supported by the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce.
