Television presenter and former advisor to Lord Sugar, Nick Hewer, has taken an ambassador role in a firm that provides professional health and safety, HR and employment law.

Citation, based in Manchester, offers health and safety, HR and employment law services to small-to-medium-sized businesses.

Well known for his time on The Apprentice and as the presenter of Channel 4’s Countdown, Nick Hewer is a keen supporter of SMEs and is said to be passionate about using the expertise and knowledge he has gained over 30 years in business to help SMEs succeed in the current economic environment.

The ambassador role with Citation is said to see him endorse and promote all elements of the company’s service offering, many of which are crucial to the success and survival of SMEs from a legislative or compliance perspective.

Commenting on his new relationship with Citation, Nick said:  “Entrepreneurs, start-ups and small businesses are the lifeblood of the UK economy and have a great deal to contribute.  However, too often, they can find themselves caught up with health and safety or HR issues over which they have no control and no real expertise which then has an adverse overall effect on their business.

“The services offered by Citation’s team of experts provide real peace of mind for business owners and managers across a range of business-critical issues.  For a small monthly retainer, their advice and guidance is just a phone call away leaving business owners free to concentrate on the important day-to-day job of developing and growing their businesses.”

Citation CEO, Chris Morris, said:  “We’re delighted that Nick has chosen to represent Citation as he is highly selective about the organisations he chooses to support.  Having run his own business, he understands the services that we offer and how they can be of benefit to SMEs and we look forward to working with him to communicate this to the many thousands of small businesses who do not have professional external business support.”
