A new version of first-aid DVD ‘A comprehensive guide to First Aid’ – originally released in 2010 – has been introduced by Concept Filming and A1 First Aid.
According to the companies, the DVD is based on the proven format of first-aid training and offers content that allows the viewer to learn in both visual and audio formats.
The DVD, designed to deliver refresher training, now also offers ‘real-life’ scenarios showing a first-aider in action, thus bringing theory to life. It has been updated to include the latest guidelines from the UK Resuscitation Council on basic life support and includes an evaluation questionnaire to test understanding before, during, and after viewing.
The producer of the DVD, Dave Roberts, said: “The basis of our product development was feedback that many first-aiders fear losing their knowledge over the three years of their certificate’s validity. We wanted to develop a reasonably-priced product that helped keep first-aid knowledge at the forefront of people’s minds, in order to save lives.”
Mike Foster, of A1, said: “The DVD has supported both first-aiders and business-owners, who like the flexibility and cost saving of being able to refresh an individual’s personal knowledge, at their own pace, when they have a spare moment. Our DVD has proved popular, since you can choose sections to watch instead of having to watch the full content at once, or attend another course.
