PID monitor – IonScience Cub

IonScience, manufacturer of the PhoCheck Tiger (VOC monitor) and PhoCheck Tiger Select (benzene detector) has launched the new Cub, described as the world’s smallest, fastest personal PID monitor for measuring Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), providing accurate, continuous full-day protection.

The Cub is available in three modes: ppb, ppm and TAC mode. Ion Science says measuring 480 selectable compounds with the 10.6 eV lamp for accurate detection of VOCs with a dynamic range of 1 ppb to 5000 ppm means the Cub has the widest range on the market. Models can be upgraded to suit users’ needs.

TAC mode can be used to detect accurate readings of total aromatic compounds down to ppb levels, adds the company, making it perfect for use alongside a Tiger Select or Kitagawa gas detector system.

Ion Science says the Cub is – uniquely – able to carry out STEL and TWA monitoring of Occupational Exposure Limits (OELs). It also has a feature to set alarm trigger-points – programmable to specific OELs – thus ensuring the wearer’s immediate safety and health.
