Vibration measurement – HAVmeter poker attachment

Vibration engineering consultants Reactec – the firm behind the HAVmeter – has developed a poker attachment, which will allow the device to be used to protect the health and safety of air-poker operators against hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS).

According to the company, up until now there has been no accurate and effective way of monitoring the vibration exposure of operators of air pokers – used to settle concrete through trapped air and water. Paper-based systems are usually used, which, says Reactec, have been proved to be time-consuming, costly and inaccurate by up to 80 per cent.
