Working at height – Training and qualifications
City & Guilds has launched a range of qualifications for people working at height, in conjuction with Total Access (UK) Ltd, which will run courses for delegates at its training centre in Staffordshire.
The Level 2 qualification will help raise standards in the industry and reduce the risks of accidents, says City & Guilds, which adds that the qualification is suitable for those who ascend pylons, telecommunication towers, high roofs or scaffoldling. On successful completion of the qualification, employees will receive a licence-to-practice skill card.
The qualifications can be completed in two days and are subject to rigorous assessment, states City & Guilds.
Ben Haughton, director of Total Access, said: “The new City & Guilds approved working-at-height courses provide organisations with international-recognised training qualifications that allow standardisation of training throughout the workforce and facilitate integration of sub-contractors and/or companies working in partnership on global projects.
