‘69% of line managers have not been trained to recognise poor Mental Health in their Employees’

New IOSH Occupational Health and Wellness Online course launched with First4Safety.

Said to firmly putting the Health back into Health and Safety – The new course creates space for teams to talk about mental health, gaining the tools and techniques to improve the over-all health and wellbeing across their organisation.

Absences in the workplace due to mental ill health costs the UK economy more than £8bn per year.

Greater awareness of the issues in the media and social networking sites have driven more acceptance and understanding of mental ill health than ever before. While more of us are accessing help, The British Medical Association (BMA) estimates that it can still take over six months to get the help needed.

Considering the emotional fitness of a business is a now a big strategic consideration, often sitting at the top of the health and safety agenda, resilience training is seen as key to reducing the likelihood of developing mental health illnesses, thus preventing the need for cures.

Healthy and productive workplace

F4S says its new IOSH Managing Occupational Health and Wellbeing Course equips managers with the necessary skills and tools to understand these important issues – helping them to create a healthy and productive workplace for themselves and their teams.

  • How to recognise a ‘well’ employee;
