Solving your permit woes with software
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The latest offering from Engage EHS aims to bring an end to industry reliance on paper permits, letting users create, request and manage permits for all manner of hazardous work.
Health & safety software provider Engage EHS has announced the latest addition to its system: Permit to Work. This module has come about following in-depth research with Engage EHS clients into the common problems with traditional permit management.
The new module enables users to leave behind the cumbersome, paper-based system and its associated flaws. Many health and safety professionals will be familiar with the drawbacks of paper permits: they are filed away and lost, photocopied to the point of being illegible and templates are altered with no record of who changed what.
“Through conversations with our customer base, we noticed that the same problems were cropping up regarding permit usage,” says Engage EHS CEO Darragh Geoghegan. “Permits were going missing and the handover process across shifts were real issues for people. We wanted to be able to provide a solution to these problems and that’s when the Permit to Work module came about”.
The Permit to Work module lets users create, revoke and extend permits where necessary. Issuing Authorities have been given the ability to review and reject permits at any stage of the process.
Users can now see the full timeline of a permit’s lifecycle and history, giving businesses better oversight. A key element of the new module is its ability to interact with the Engage EHS Contractor Module, giving oversight of all parties involved in a job or project.
“We’re hoping that this new module makes our customers lives easier,” says Billy O’ Brien, Head of Customer Success at Engage EHS. “We felt that there was no reason that permit management cannot be brought up to speed with other H&S processes that have migrated to digital”.
To learn more about the Engage EHS Permit to Work module, you can register for the upcoming webinar ‘3 Pains of Permit Management’, taking place at 10:30am on 30 April.
