Safety locks- Master Lock

Master Lock has developed a range of high-integrity safety locking-off products, which, when used in conjunction with the company’s safety padlocks, is said to create a robust lockout solution.

According to Master Lock, an essential part of all maintenance activity

is the need to ensure that equipment cannot re-start or re-energise

unexpectedly.

It says reg.19(3) of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 requires employers to ensure that reconnection of any energy source does not expose those using the equipment to any risk. The company has developed a lockout device, which, it says, is suitable for all lockout applications, including electrical isolation and process valves.

Included in the Safety Series™ is a range of valve lockouts, electrical switch locks, and key management systems. Details of the various products are available from Tim Hughes — e-mail thughes@mlock.com, or visit www.masterlock.com
