Safety lighting – Curtis Instruments

Curtis Instruments has introduced the new Curtis LED beacon, which is said to offer customers an inexpensive and powerful safety light.

The company says that unlike conventional xenon technology, the light requires little or no upkeep during its long lifetime.

Some of the key points, according to Curtis Instruments, are that comparatively xenons are more expensive to operate; LEDs have a solid state construction which resists shock and vibration; by comparison, LEDs are incredibly bright and can be used indoors and outdoors; and LEDs last longer and use less energy.

Curtis Instruments says that the Curtis LED beacon has the same basic features as an existing LED — IP65 rated, 65 flash per minute beacon, 6 burst and for indoor and outdoor use — but it also has a constant ‘on’ option, links to speed controllers to provide fault warning flashes if required and costs less than the existing version at £16.

Additionally, the LED beacon is backed by a two-year warranty.
