St John Ambulance launches mental health conference series

Health charity, St John Ambulance, has launched a series of one-day mental health conferences which will see experts discussing key topics in mental health and workplace wellbeing at three locations across England.

The opening event of the series will be held in Manchester on Thursday 26 September at ETC Venues. The aim is to build on the success of the inaugural mental health summit, Embedding Mental Health Best Practices in the Workplace, which took place in London last year.

Conferences are also planned for Bristol, on Thursday 28 November at We The Curious, and Birmingham in February 2020.

Aimed at health & safety professionals, HR leaders and policy influencers, the events will provide delegates with the opportunity to share best practice and hear authoritative views on mental health in the workplace from leading companies across a variety of sectors.

Already confirmed to speak at the Manchester conference are senior representatives from multinational companies such as WHSmith, Marks & Spencer and Nestlé. The sessions will combine case studies, strategy masterclasses and panel discussions.

Mel Fox, Director of Training & Enterprise at St John Ambulance, said: “We’re excited to launch this series of regional conferences to foster discussion and share knowledge among business leaders about the best way to support the health and wellbeing of their workforces and communities.

“At St John Ambulance, we are committed to bringing physical and mental health together within first aid training. These conferences will be an excellent opportunity for sharing ideas and expertise in communities across the country so we can learn from each other and help build resilience in mental health.”
