NEBOSH names Ian Taylor as new Chief Executive

The Board of Trustees of NEBOSH have announced the appointment of Ian Taylor as Chief Executive.

Ian comes from a background of leading a variety of commercial businesses, membership bodies and charities and has extensive management experience.

Ian will take up his appointment from 15 October 2018.

In his most recent post, Ian was CEO of the Skills Active Group, the Sector Skills Council for Active Leisure, Learning and Wellbeing. Prior to which he has led organisations including Giant Bikes, ISL, Sport Scotland and London Irish Holdings.

Ian has significant experience of building effective and successful relationships with a wide variety of stakeholder groups including governments, governing bodies, regulators, awarding bodies and shareholders both in the UK and internationally.

Ian said: “I am delighted to be joining the highly talented team at NEBOSH and working closely with the Board, and collaboratively with stakeholders, training providers and the industry.

Now that a new CEO appointment has been made, NEBOSH Chair, Sir Bill Callaghan, who recently announced his plans to retire, is stepping down from his position earlier than planned. Dr Bill Nixon, currently Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees, will lead the board until the appointment of the next Chair.

A NEBOSH statement said that: ‘The Board is grateful to Sir Bill Callaghan for his contribution over the last eight years and wishes him well for the future.’
