In this position, he was key in delivering a highly innovative SHE induction process, which included an immersive, interactive experience designed to ensure attendees left the day understanding the full implications of their actions and in no doubt that the organisation was fully committed to first-class health and safety.
Mr Crofts also spoke at last year’s Safety and Health Expo about the health and wellbeing work at the infrastructure company, which is s building a 16-mile ‘super sewer’ tunnel, which will run under the River Thames through central London.
“From day one, we want people to know Tideway is different and we want workers to behave differently,” he told delegates.
Previous to Thames Tideway, he was Head of Health and Safety Improvements at Crossrail.
During his time there, he relaunched and embedded the Target Zero philosophy across the supply chain. Target Zero is Crossrail’s key to ensuring a world class health and safety standard across the programme, to protect the work environment and keep everyone safe.
“I’m excited to be joining Kier Highways to lead its health and safety practices across the business and look forward to working on its key projects,” said Mr Crofts.
“Health and safety is instrumental to the highways business and it is important we continue to strive towards health and safety excellence that ensures we get everyone home safely at the end of the day.”
