The RoSPA Awards recognise good practice and are open to businesses of any size, which are located in the UK or overseas. Judges will consider entrants’ accidents records, safety management systems, leadership, and workforce involvement in accident and ill health prevention. The closing date for entries is 12 February 2010, although entrants are advised to start preparing their submissions now. Any company that registers before 24 December will receive a discount on their entry fee.The Awards will take place in May at the Safety and Health Expo, in Birmingham. The majority of awards are non-competitive, but competitive awards are given to the best entries in 22 industry sectors, which include construction, healthcare, transport and logistics, engineering, manufacturing and education.RoSPA chief executive Tom Mullarkey said: “The RoSPA Awards recognise organisations which have achieved or are striving to attain excellence in such management practices. More than 1,650 winners were honoured in 2009 and I hope their example will inspire other organisations to enter the scheme, both to gain independent recognition of their own achievements and to contribute to our shared knowledge of good practice.”
