Drugs and alcohol webinar: live blog

I attended the Webinar and was impressed with the information given out, thought provoking ones at that. It definitely gave me food for thought and different ways to look at, and approach this subject matter. I have worked on major keystone projects in the commercial construction industry, (rail, airport and Olympic Park), and I fully support the Zero Tolerance for drink and substance abuse. It leaves no room for error and goes a major way towards changing behavioural culture outside the workpkace, by way of persuading the construction industry to adopt and encourage lifestyle changes which, results in a healthier and safer workforce…A Most important major supportive step with this change of culture, is with companies offering help to those who seek it, without recourse, in order to assist and support them. I speak from 1st hand experience of this policy working, with a company I worked with at the Airport recently, and was really pleased to have been part of seeing the benefits and change in the people, with whom I encouraged to seek the companies offer of assistance without fear of losing their job…..
