In October, a company in Birmingham was fined £1.275 million after a 26-year-old man was crushed to death during maintenance work at Mountsorrel Quarry in Leicestershire.
In March, Morrisons supermarket was fined £3.5 million for failing to ensure the health and safety of an epileptic employee who died after falling from a shop stairway.
The highest fine came in July, where Transport for London (TfL) was fined £10 million and Tram Operations Limited (TOL) fined £4 million for health and safety failings leading to the Croydon tram disaster.
One hundred and thirty-five workers were killed in work-related incidents in Great Britain in the last year, according to HSE’s annual report.
