Brandon Lewis MP, the Minister of State for policing and the fire service will address key fire industry decision makers at the Royal College of Surgeons on 18 October, it has been announced.

Other speakers include Dave Etheridge, president of the Chief Fire Officer’s Association (CFOA), Kjeld Brogaard of Falck and Major General Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, director general of Dubai Civil Defence among many others who will take the stage to discuss the future of fire safety.

The annual conference, which attracted over 300 visitors in 2015, gives delegates a chance to discuss policy and opportunities with the fire industry’s key players. The event includes a ‘question time’ debate, where queries from the floor will be fielded by leaders from all sections of the industry.

Delegates will also get the chance to tailor the event to their own interests through a series of themed workshops.  This year’s themes are construction, heritage, and fire and rescue service delivery.

This year’s summit is chaired by broadcaster and safety campaigner Nick Ross, and is preceded by a gala dinner on the 17 October including an address from Lord John Bird MBE.

The event is taking place on the 17 and 18 of October at the Royal College of Surgeons, London. Tickets can be purchased via the FPA website or Melissa Harrison on 01608 812 534 or mharrison@thefpa.co.uk. Delegates can get a 25% discount on tickets using the code SHP at the web-checkout.
