Bullying was also rated the most important issue related to “social health and wellbeing”, with 42% of individuals ranking it at the top – “very important” – followed by bereavement (40%) and confidence (34%).
Bullying was rated very important for 16–34-year olds working in the sector, followed by 35–54-year olds (39%) and over 55s (32%).
Bullying was also deemed as a “very important” issue for almost half of the aftermarket, service and repair sector (45%).
In light of these results, Ben has launched new resources on its website to help people cope with this difficult issue.

The new campaign comes just weeks after a study by the British Medical Association (BMA) revealed that bullying and harassment is common in the NHS and that many doctors and other staff say their personal and working lives are seriously affected by it.
“Bullying isn’t just something that happens to children, it can be something we, as grown adults, have to deal with in life both inside and outside of the workplace,” said the charity’s Health & Wellbeing Director, Rachel Clift.
“We believe that no-one should have to deal with bullying or associated feelings of being vulnerable, embarrassed, isolated or struggling with mental health issues as a consequence.
