Major incident declared after crane collapses

A major incident has been declared after the collapse of a crane this morning at Falmouth Docks in Cornwall.

Officers were called just before 09:10 BST following reports of an industrial accident.

A 200m exclusion zone has been put in place and properties will be evacuated, police have said.

It has been reported that the crane, which had dominated the skyline for more than 50 years, was in the process of being dismantled.

Devon and Cornwall Police said there were no reports of any injuries but Cliff Road was closed to the public.
