The founder of the maternity discrimination campaign Pregnant Then Screwed will be one of the keynote speakers at next month’s Women in Health and Safety event.
Keynote speaker
The evening event, which will be held at Trinity Leeds Shopping Centre on 5 February, will include a keynote speech by Joeli Brearley.
She founded the Pregnant Then Screwed campaign after she was sacked from her job when she was four months pregnant with her first child.
Ever since then she has been on a mission to raise awareness of discrimination, and to help other women who are victims of discriminatory behaviour.
Case for flexible working
The event will also examine the business case for flexible working, real life experiences of women and how to get rid of pregnancy and maternity discrimination.
It will be suitable for anyone who has been on a career break, thinking of taking a career break, or interested in the motherhood penalty and gender equality.
The event starts at 5pm and there will also be time for networking and the event is due to finish at 7pm.
