In SHP’s state of the industry survey conducted earlier in February this year, we found that the average salary for a health and safety professional was £48,468
Safeguard calculated the median income for a health and safety professional in New Zealand, which came out as NZD$88,410 – which translates at£51,770.22
By gender, men in New Zealand earn NZD$94,310 (£55,289) compared to the UK average of £52,800.
Women in New Zealand earn $80,160 (£46,984) compared to the UK average of £38,828.
The Safeguard survey recorded data from 436 people, and the full report published on the Safeguard website provides an insight into

A snapshot picture can be deceiving – it does not take into account the cost of living e.g.food and housing. Obviously the figures are affected most by the current exchange rate; the UK’s departure from the EEU has seen the pound plummet.
