Zarges describes the Telepod as the world’s first telescopic mobile enclosed podium, providing a uniquely light and portable solution for working at height.
The telescopic mechanism allows three adjustable platform height options (approximately 50cm, 75cm and 1 metre). The company also points out that the spacious platform includes two lockable gates, allowing access from both sides, thus ensuring 360° fall protection for the user. In addition, extending stabilisers increase the footprint during use, limiting the likelihood of the podium toppling.
The Zarges Telepod folds down compactly for storage and transportation; it can even fit in the back of an estate car or van, says the company. While folded, the Telepod has been designed to include transport wheels and an extending handrail allowing it to be ‘wheeled’ along like hand luggage. In addition, the lightweight design and carry strap mean the Telepod can be lifted where necessary – for example, up or down stairs.
Zarges says the Telepod combines the benefits of light and portable design with the safety inherent in a large platform and guardrails. Users can be working at height (from van to in-situ) in under two minutes.
