Building firm failed to learn lessons from earlier prosecution

A builder plummeted from a damaged scaffolding plank during the construction of a house in South Warwickshire.
Frederick Stuart, 62, was working as a builder for Sibbasbridge Ltd when the incident took place at the site in Dark Lane, Tiddington on 28 July 2010. He was asked to cut off a scaffold pole on the second floor of the building, and he gained access to the pole by standing on a single scaffolding board, which was positioned above a void in the floor.
The plank was in a poor condition and unable to support his weight. As he stepped on it, the wood snapped, and he fell two and a half metres to the floor below, where he ended up straddling a joist. He broke his pelvis in two places and suffered a deep cut in his left thigh, which caused muscle damage. He was unable to return to work for six months owing to his injuries and has been left with a permanent scar on his thigh.€

Jesus, they cut a lot of tiles or bricks on that board in a week.
Typical, roofers and brickies have no respect for other peoples property.
Now along with unwarranted modifications they have taken to wilfull damage.
Must cost a fortune in boards the way they work?
I,ve just realised, the location is Dark Lane, that explains why no one could see how knackered the scaffold board was.
I must remeber to take a tourch if working in Dark Lane, now where did I put that bloody thing?
I would be interested to know if it was a BSi standard board or one of the other standards such as BSB.
