University research into wellbeing and long-term health conditions at work

Loughborough University is undertaking research into wellbeing and long-term health conditions at work. Working people (and employers) are being invited to take part.

The purpose of the project is to undertake research that has the potential to improve and lengthen the working lives of people affected by prevalent long-term health conditions including:  anxiety, depression and stress, musculoskeletal disorders, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, lung disorders incl. asthma and, ‘other’ health conditions.

The researchers point to the fact that people with long-term health conditions can be ‘self-activated’ to look after their health at work; they’re interested in finding out more about this, the extent to which people with health conditions are looking after their health and well-being whilst working and, their employer support. Working conditions affecting people regardless of health status is also being looked at.
