Programme for IOSH 2016 unveiled

The programme for the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health’s (IOSH) annual conference has been revealed.

The main themes for this years conference will be about inspiring and influencing internal and external stakeholders in order to integrate health and safety into the fabric of an organisation.

Leading professionals who have influenced long-term change will be giving first-hand advice to delegates.

The conference, called ‘Influential leadership: delivering impact – sustaining change’, will be the third and final part of a series of IOSH international conferences on a leadership theme, allowing delegates to build on the knowledge gained at the previous two annual conferences.

Sir Clive Woodward, who won the Rugby World Cup as England coach in 2003, will be a keynote speaker while TV and radio journalist Tanya Beckett will chair the conference.

The conference, being held at ExCeL London on 21-22 June, will be split into four tracks of sessions, allowing delegates to pick which best suits their needs.

Four tracks

Track A: ‘How to influence – internally and externally’, will include speakers such as Malcolm Staves, corporate health and safety director of L’Oreal; and Dr Shaun Lundy, academic portfolio leader for the Department of Built Environment at the University of Greenwich.

Track B: ‘Business risk and resilience’ and will include presentations from Mary Lawrence, head of health and safety at Osborne Clark; and Magnus Carter, founder of Mentor Ltd.

Track C: ‘Innovation across programmes, strategy and technology’ will see presentations from Seamus Keogh, chief operating officer at Clancy Docwra; and Paul Williams, head of health and safety at Peabody, will be among speakers.

Track D: ‘Positioning for the future’ will feature presentations by Michael Emery, SHE manager for Secure Health and Safety; and John Green, director HSE, Laing O’Rourke Europe.

There will also be plenary sessions over the two days, with topics including IOSH’s research projects and the health of the nation.
