Safety barriers – Tensator
Bus operator Arriva has enhanced its safety measures by selecting freestanding barriers and retractable wall-mounted units from queue-management company, Tensator.
High-visibility retractable webbing barriers have been installed around vehicle inspection pits across Arriva’s UK-wide bus-depot network. Tensator says the safety barriers, which have been tailored to fulfil the needs of individual depots, carry messaging and visuals to alert people to hazards, which also helps overcome any potential language difficulties.
The company’s retractable belt technology is said to be extremely flexible and, with the use of connector clips, the retractable webbing posts can remain connected to inspection-pit bridges as they move, ensuring that the pit itself is cordoned off at all times.
Ian Tarran, engineering director at Arriva UK Bus, said: “Using Tensator’s retractable technology helps us clearly highlight hazardous areas to prevent potential accidents.”
