IOSH 13 – BSI, stand D30
BSI will be explaining the benefits of the recently launched international standard for road-traffic safety, ISO 39001.
Said Suzanne Fribbins, EMEA risk product manager: “Global research has shown that death and serious injury can be considerably reduced by adopting a holistic safe system approach to road-traffic safety. The management consistencies offered by an internationally-recognised certification scheme have compelling safety, risk management and commercial benefits, which can help in reducing accidents and fatalities”.
Visitors to the BSI stand will be able to speak to staff about its full product and service range. Among other things, visitors can learn about the benefits of taking a systems approach to managing health and safety, including road traffic safety. BSI says clients that have achieved certification to OHSAS 18001 have reported such benefits as a reduction in lost hours through sickness, an increased ability to comply with the law, and improvements in company image.
There will also be information on product certification and training courses (including OHSAS 18001, ISO 39001 and NEBOSH), as well as the Entropy software system, which, BSI says, helps users – be they a small business, or part of a global organisation – manage performance, risk and environmental standards.
In addition, Suzanne Fribbins will present two free sessions in the Spotlight Theatre on OHSAS 18001 and ISO 39001 – see page 62 for the theatre timetable.
