In-vehicle monitoring – Driver DNA box
Provider of mobile resource management solutions Trimble MRM has created the Driver DNA box, which, it says, provides real-time information on driver behaviour, vehicle condition, fuel and mpg efficiency, and CO2 emissions.
The box is said to provide traditional GPS data on vehicle position and activity, giving a true 360-degree view of a fleet’s usage and performance. Using this data, companies can then analyse and compare performance to see where action needs to be taken – on anything from driver style to vehicle servicing.
Otherwise known as the TVG 660 device, the Driver DNA box has, according to Trimble, the unique ability to work across all vehicle makes and models, meaning businesses have a common solution across all their fleet – from HGVs to vans and cars. In trials, the Driver DNA box was successful in reducing fuel and vehicle maintenance costs by up to 15 per cent, and boosting driver compliance by 18 per cent, adds Trimble.
