Westfield Shopping Centre: Two shoppers injured in fall from height
Two people have been injured after a man fell from the top floor of Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford and landed on a female shopper.
London Ambulance confirmed that both were taken to hospital as a precaution and police said that neither appear to have suffered life threatening injuries.
The 24-year-old-man has since reportedly been arrested on suspicion of causing Grievous bodily harm.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 4pm, Wednesday, October 17, to reports of a man falling from height and a woman injured at the Westfield Shopping Centre, Stratford.”
A spokesperson for Westfield said: “The safety and security of our customers is our highest priority and our security team were immediately at the scene to help. We are working with the emergency services as they investigate the incident.”
Police have confirmed that inquiries into the incident are underway.
