UK Health & Safety Week

Great Britain has one of the best combined health and safety records in the world.

However, there is still room for improvement. Despite the fact that fatal injuries are at their lowest in 20 years, occupational health cases are on the rise. Find out what Health and Safety Week is doing to improve this.

The SHP Women in Health & Safety Network

The Women in Health and Safety network was established in 2015 in order to provide a space for women in the health and safety profession to network, engage with one another and share best practice.

After launching with one event at Safety & Health Expo, we realised there was a real appetite in the health and safety profession for this network. The following year we ran a number of smaller, regional events across the country, in Edinburgh, London, Leicester and Birmingham.

Rising Star awards

Following a successful launch in 2016, the SHP Rising Star Awards will take place on 21 June at Safety & Health Expo, as part of Health & Safety Week UK, rewarding those who have demonstrated excellence in their roles.

Supported by the Association of Project Safety, BOHS, IIRSM, NEBOSH, RoSPA and Thames Water, the awards are designed to recognise the achievements of people new to the profession, making a difference in their organisation.
