It has been eight months since UBM and Informa joined forces to create the world’s largest events business. The transition has been smooth and this merger presents more opportunities for our customers to come.
UBM’s existing occupational safety and health and facilities management portfolios will sit within a wider, more focused group of events, letting us combine Informa brands with UBM properties and introduce our events to a far more diverse group of customers.
For instance, our portfolio of occupational safety and health events – Safety & Health Expo, SHP Online, SHP4jobs, Barbour EHS – can benefit from working more closely with the Informa brands IMHX and SHD Logistics.
This cooperation will bring health and safety practitioners from the warehousing and manufacturing sectors to Safety & Health Expo, and generate new technical content on important areas such as forklift trucks for both SHP Online and Barbour EHS.
We will also collaborate with Intermodal to bring portside and docks health and safety professionals to Safety & Health Expo, thereby creating a much more comprehensive health and safety event than under UBM alone.
Visitor numbers have been on the rise for both Facilities Show and Safety & Health Expo over the last two years, and with the increased critical mass of Informa and UBM behind these events, we look forward to welcoming even higher numbers in 2019.
Ultimately, these initial and instant growth areas benefit you and your business. They are the first of many opportunities to come directly from the combination, and I look forward to sharing further announcements with you soon.
