Totectors safety footwear firm celebrates 125 years of success
Safety footwear manufacturer Totectors is celebrating its 125th anniversary.
The firm was founded in 1885 and was initially a family run business. In 1944, it acquired the rights to become the first company to produce steel toe safety shoes in the UK, which were aimed at helping counter foot injuries being sustained by miners.
Totectors now produces thousands of pairs of dual injection TPU/PU footwear in the Europe, the Middle East, and Gulf states. The company has recently invested millions of dollars in research and development on the latest safety footwear technology.
Its latest range of footwear was showcased in November at the A+A 2009 Exhibition, in Germany. The firm will exhibit further developments at the Safety and Health Expo 2010, in Birmingham on 11-13 May.
