Webinar programme kicks off with PPE focus
3M is hosting a number of webinars to help its customers ensure that their workplaces are compliant with safety regulations.
The Safety Spotlights are free to attend and will cover a range of issues including welding, noise, skin hazards and optical light safety. The first webinar takes place on 22 March at midday, and will focus on the importance of PPE compatibility in ensuring worker safety and legal compliance. The session will explain how PPE products can be worn together so that no one item compramises the ability of another to protect the wearer.
Jo Partridge, of 3M’s Occupational Health and Environmental Safety Division, explained: “There are several ways to approach the issue of compatibility. One option is to use combination products, which bring together several PPE types in a single unit – for example, a powered air respirator with a headtop, which incorporates hearing, eye, head and respiratory protection. This system reduces the number of items and associated fitting components competing for space on a wearer’s face. €
