Training course – Securus Health & Safety

Once the preserve of executives and senior managers, coaching is fast becoming a standard feature of corporate life, with the ability to coach increasingly being seen as an essential management skill, according to Securus Health & Safety Ltd.

The company says that many safety practitioners characterise themselves as coaches and a growing number have the title ‘safety coach’. However, coaching is not demonstrating an ability you have to support the development of others; coaching is being collaborative, supportive and helpful and as such, Securus Health
& Safety Ltd says it is an essential skill for safety practitioners.

Michael Emery, director of Securus Health & Safety Ltd, has designed a two-day programme approved by IOSH, which he says will equip practitioners with vitally important communication skills.

Delegates will learn about being curious for the sake of those they support, develop their active listening skills, discover how challenging assumptions can unlock possibilities and learn about being solutions-focused.
