Throwback Thursday: Don’t condemn CDM
CDM 2015 is still in the news, as everyone tries to get to grips with the changes. Back in January, we posted a Throwback Thursday from 1996 which gave an overview of CDM and everyone’s responsibilities back then. In April 2002, SHP published an article calling on practitioners to stop criticising and start supporting CDM.
Greg Brown argues that those working in the construction industry need to work together to make the process work better than things did in the pre-CDM days, but that the negative response is preventing this.
The article is an interesting history lesson, and maybe we can learn from how people responded in 2002, and apply that to working with the new regulations.
More information about the recent changes to CDM can be found here.
