Three nods for 3M
3M, the diversified technology company, is celebrating success in three major awards schemes for its work in health and safety.
First up, the company’s S-655 Premium Hood has achieved a ‘red dot’ award for design. Said to be among the largest design competitions in the world, the red dot awards are made annually by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen for outstanding international design. 3M, in conjunction with design agency DCA, was selected from a field of nearly 5000 entries from 57 countries. €ᄄ€ᄄ
Also, 3M’s Speedglas 9100 Welding Shield was recognised in the 2010 Institute of Ergonomics & Human Factors Design Awards. The award was collected by 3M’s welding sales manager, Keith Washbrook (pictured), at the Institute’s annual conference at Keele University in April.€ᄄ€ᄄ
Finally, the company’s Occupational Health and Environmental Safety (OH&ES) team won Silver in the ‘Small Budget’ category of the Institute of Promotional Marketing Awards for its online Eyecatching Protection campaign. The campaign is designed to give wearers of safety spectacles the unique opportunity to ‘try before they buy’ simply by logging on to the 3M microsite at www.3Meyecatchingprotection.co.uk€ᄄ
